A pair of reclaimed french terraccotta roof tiles that have been converted to candle sconces. Handmade from locally sourced terracotta clay in the Pyrenees mountain region of France. Originally used as roof tiles, they are weathered by the sun and showers creating a rich patina, they have been repurposed with an iron candle mount. through the original nail hole with another nail hole to mount upon the wall.
Inspired by original Roman tiles dating back to the 12th century which saw the makers shape the terracotta upon their theighs.
Condition: in good original condition showing signs of wear in keeping with age.
