


ANTIQUE FRENCH WROUGHT IRON LANTERN
A fine French antique wrought iron hanging lantern circa 1900. Featuring a hexagonal main body, each of the rectangular sides is topped by a pediment of foliate detailing. One side has a functioning door with intact original glass. Near the top of each side is a volute scroll that forms the attachment point for the six arms, each wrapped in an acanthus leaf. The arms come together in a volute crown with a centre eyelet for hanging. In a similar fashion, additional volutes near the base trail down into a hanging noix that also serves as the collar for the lighting capital.
Fully restored and rewired to AUS requirments with a rich aged verdegris patina.
Condition: in excellent origial conditon with a beautifully aged patina and original glass intact. Rewired for AUS.
