A 19th century riven beechwood Romanian shepherds coffer. Featuring geometric floral motifs carved into the wood (scratch art). Exquisite wooden craftsmanship and traditional ornament native to Țara Călatei (Kalotaszegi), Transylvania, Romania, shows a respect for material, a wooden hinge mechanism is carved directly into the beech.
Condition: in good original condition showing signs of wear in keeping with age and a rich patina.
