17TH C. AUBUSSON TAPESTRY FRAGMENT
A fragment from a 17th century Aubusson tapestry.
Depicting garlands of flowers including peonies, daisies, wind flowers and tulips amongst foliage such as oak and acanthus leaves. Surrounding boarder in golden hues. Wool and silk thread. Brown, gold, blue, green, beige, black and pink tones.
Backed in natural linen, hessian with brass loops for hanging. Can be hung both vertically and horizontally.
Condition: wear consistent with age, minor some areas of fading, overall very good condition with good colour retention.
